Tie Dye Sarong Dyeing Methods

Tie dye sarongs are known for their distinct swirls of colors and vivid designs. These distinct patterns are produced using a variety of different dyeing methods and techniques, which give tie dye sarongs their unique look.

Tie dye sarongs can be dyed in an assortment of different ways, creating a diverse selection of unique patterns. In order to make that quintessential tie dye sarong look, spirals can be created by laying the material flat, and then by pinching a section and twisting it up until the entire sheet of fabric is twisted. This twisted fabric is then tightly secured with a rubber band and placed in dye. After drying, the garment will be left with a beautiful spiral design.

Many tie dye sarongs also have bold bands of colors and stripes, which look stunning on longer sarong styles. To achieve this look, the fabric is simply rolled up from the bottom or folded into pleats. Once the entire piece of fabric is folded up, rubber bands are placed all along the length of the garment. After applying dye in between the rubber-banded sections, lovely stripes of color will be left in between each section.

A new project that crafty fashionistas have recently come up with is applying the “ombre” design to create an updated look. This look can be created by first dipping the majority of the fabric into the dye, then by dipping the remaining fabric in the dye for a slightly less duration of time. To make the dye blend easily, a spray bottle is often used to achieve the ombre effect. Once dried, the fabric will display an amazing gradient of color.

The designs found on modern tie dye sarongs vary widely, but these handmade sarongs prove to be a unique outfit option, as no two designs are alike. Whether you’re looking for a new tie dye sarong or beautiful beachwear, FairWinds Sarongs has an extensive collection of stylish clothing for women.
